Introduction to Aristotle

Aristotle (384 B.C. to 322 B.C.) was a very influential philosopher in the world of Ancient world Greece along with his teacher Plato. In his life he taught Alexander the Great. Which gave him many opportunities and supplies for any experiment he could imagine. He established a library, which was a big step in getting hi many books "published". Aristotle was a pupil of Plato, that contributed to his former views of Platonism. However, after Plato's death, Aristotle dove himself in empirical studies, moving from Platonism to empiricism.

Biography

Aristotle, whose name means "the best purpose", was more than a smart man that lived a long time ago. Student of Plato, Aristotle made his marks in the world of logic, poetry, politics, metaphysics, biology, psychology and ethics. Aristotle's father, Nicomachus, died when Aristotle was a child. So, at the young age of 17 he was sent of to become a student at Plato's Academy.
Then as his philosophical involvement got more serious, he founded his own school, Lyceum. He had a very strong bond with Plato, but sometimes, not his works. Aristotle once stated simply but strongly, "Plato is dear to me, but dearer still is the truth" and with that being said the study of ethics became Aristotle's muse. Sadly most of his worlds dies in Europe, during the dark age, but thrived in Arab countries.
